  • Initial Rent Paid: Often 1–2 weeks’ rent in advance.
  • Healthy Homes Statement Provided: This shows compliance with heating, insulation, and ventilation standards.

✅ On Move-In Day

  • Condition Report Completed: Carefully review this and take your own photos for your records.
  • Keys Received: Ensure you’ve received all keys, remotes, or swipe cards.
  • Utilities Set Up: Power, internet, and gas should be transferred to your name.

✅ Within the First Week

  • Test smoke alarms and report any issues
  • Notify your property manager of anything missed during inspection
  • Read and understand the process for requesting maintenance
